David Hunt

David Hunt is an unusually tall and handsome man who enjoys writing his own biographical notes. He is also an historian and satirist. His first book Girt: The Unauthorised History of Australia won the 2014 Independent Booksellers’ Award for Non-fiction Book of the Year and was shortlisted for heaps of other stuff. The sequel True Girt was shortlisted for 2017 Audiobook of the Year at the Australian Book Industry Awards and the Russell Prize for Humour Writing. David has also written Girt Nation (considered by less discerning literary judges) and two children’s picture books, The Nose Pixies and My Real Friend. David has a birthmark that looks like Tasmania, only smaller and not as far south.
