Book Launches

Showcasing the best of the Central Coast for locals and visitors alike.

About the Book Launch Program

As part of the Words on the Waves Book Launch program, emerging and established authors have the opportunity to introduce their publication to a larger audience. Particularly developed with local writers and artists in mind, this program is a way for Words on the Waves to develop community connections and capacity, develop relationships with local businesses and showcase the talents of the Central Coast community to our local and visiting attendees.

Words on the Waves launched this program in 2022, and based on its success (with six books launched and hundreds of attendances) we will offer this again in 2023.

The Book Launch was a new experience for me. We held it in the Woy Woy library which proved to be an excellent venue, the ‘events’ librarian was really helpful, and they supplied a glass of bubbly for all attendees which made it feel like a festive occasion. I was lucky to be paired with Helen Menzies who knew what to do. She came with a well-rehearsed group of helpers. I got a real buzz out of the evening and felt well ‘launched’. Valerie Clifford

Support our Festival

As a not-for-profit organisation run with a small team of volunteers, contributions of any size go a long way in enriching the creative culture of our community. The Committee includes local Peninsula residents passionate about bringing the arts to the Coast. We are seeking support from the community to help us create a wonderful and inclusive festival.
