In the far-ranging, deeply generous book Costa’s World: Gardening for the Soil, the Soul and the Suburbs, we are treated a glimpse into the vibrant and down-to-earth world of Costa Georgiadis, Australia’s beloved TV gardener. At this special conversation event set in the stunning Pearl Beach Arboretum, we will dig into his gardening philosophies, the connections between soil, soul and the suburbs, and his heartfelt advice for getting the most joy out of your garden. Let’s get growing!

The book will be on sale at the event, and you can get your copy signed by Costa himself after the conversation.

Important Information

Please enter Pearl Beach Arboretum via Opal Close (near Pearl Beach Tennis Courts). Head towards Crommelin Cottage along a short bush track. Toilets are also located near the Tennis Courts, we suggest utilising these upon arrival.

This is an outdoor, all-weather event. Long sleeves and pants are recommended as well as closed, comfortable shoes. Pack a sun hat and an umbrella.

Limited door sales may be available (credit card only), however in this instance a chair would not be guaranteed.

Costa Georgiadis

Costa Georgiadis is a landscape architect, environmental educator and television presenter who has an all-consuming passion for plants and people. He knows how to bring out the best in each and takes great pleasure in bringing them together. As co-creator and host of Costa’s Garden Odyssey for SBS, he caught the attention of a nation. Since 2013, Costa has continued his journey as the much-loved host of one of the ABC’s most iconic and Logie award-winning programs, Gardening Australia. His presenting work with Gardening Australia has been acknowledged with a Silver Logie. Costa is also involved with regenerative agriculture and holistic practices that deal with the issues arising from a rapidly urbanising world. Through his workshops, lectures, keynotes, expos and other events, Costa is actively involved in delivering his message to the broader community. His work with pre-schools, primary and high schools, TAFE colleges and universities, industry groups and community organisations reflects his ability to convey his knowledge of a permanent self-sustaining culture to any audience. 2021 sees Costa continue with Gardening Australia and proudly support Junior Landcare in a national ambassadorial role.

Cheralyn Darcey

Cheralyn Darcey presents the award-winning weekly gardening radio show, At Home with the Gardening Gang, on Coast FM963, writes the weekly gardening page in three newspapers for Coast Newspapers and is the Community Gardening Educator of SWAMP, (Sustainable Wetlands Agricultural Makers Project) at Tuggerah, NSW. She has also written and illustrated twenty internationally published gardening and ethnobotanical titles that share her love of the botanical world. Cheralyn lives on the Central Coast, at Lake Munmorah, and is also a working member of many environmental initiatives in keeping with her vision to garden and live with a strong commitment to sustainability.
