The inaugural Words on the Waves Writers Festival will be held on the Central Coast, NSW over the June long weekend (12-13 June, 2021).
In support of the Festival, The Bouddi Society is hosting a one-day event at Wagstaffe Hall on Saturday March 27, 2021.
The exciting day’s program comprises four riveting conversations:
VICKI HASTRICH, author of two novels and the luminous and remarkable memoir, Night Fishing will be interviewed by Stella Prize-winning author CHARLOTTE WOOD
ANDREW KWONG, whose memoir One Bright Moon shows childhood during the Great Leap Forward in China, will be interviewed by Walkley Award-winning journalist CHRIS MASTERS
TOM KENEALLY, award-winning author of novels such as Schindler’s Ark, will be in conversation with his daughter, novelist MEG KENEALLY, author of Fled and The Wreck
JUDY NUNN, well-known actor and author of Khaki Town plus many others, will be interviewed by leading publisher JANE PALFREYMAN
GRAEME BLUNDELL, actor, director, producer and writer will be MC for the day

ABOUT WORDS ON THE WAVES FESTIVAL
The inaugural Words on the Waves Writers Festival will take place across the June Long Weekend (June 12-13, 2021) and will see a diverse range of writers come together to celebrate writing, literature, and Australia’s cultural and environmental future. With two full days of storytelling, author talks and panels, the festival’s aim is to connect with each other, with inspiration, with environment and with country.
Words on the Waves Writers Festival has already released its all-day School’s Program for primary school children local to the Central Coast, for Friday June 11, 2021. Programmed in partnership with the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the program’s theme is ‘Youth as Warriors of Change’, with speakers including Ursula Dubosarsky (Children’s Laureate 2020-2021).
The full Adult’s Program will be released in April, along with the opportunity to purchase a day or weekend pass to the festival.
