How our passes work

In order to book any of the sessions included in our Main Program, held Saturday 30 – Sunday 31 May at Ocean Beach SLSC, Umina Beach SLSC and The Festival Marquee, you need to first buy a Pass. It could be a Weekend Pass, a Saturday May 30 Day Pass, or a Sunday May 31 Day Pass.

• Weekend Passes enable you to attend your selection of 8 sessions across the two days;
• A Saturday, May 30 Day Pass enables you to attend 4 sessions on the Saturday; and
• A Sunday, May 31 Day Pass enables you to attend 4 sessions on the Sunday.

TO BUY A PASS

Select the number of passes you’d like to purchase and add to your cart.

You will be given the choice to either ‘Check out as a Guest’, or to ‘Create an Account’, either option is fine, but creating an account makes it much easier to access your tickets later as well as making any changes you may need.

If you choose to Create an Account, make a note of your username/email address and your password.

Redeeming Sessions with a Weekend Pass

1. Upon purchasing your Weekend Pass, you will be sent a confirmation email with your tickets and your Pass Code (i.e. 123456ABC) will be provided in the Invoice sent to you. Save this email for future reference.

2.You will be able to log in and book your sessions using your Pass Code once the full program is released on March 25. We’ll send you a reminder so you don’t forget. (Early Bird Weekend Pass Holders will gain access on March 24).

3. Use your Pass Code to book up to 8 Weekend Sessions in the Weekend Pass program. (See below for Booking your sessions using your Pass Code)

WHERE CAN I FIND MY PASS CODE?

Your Pass Code will show up on the screen on completion of purchase, and it will also be emailed to you with your receipt. Make sure to save this email for future reference.

The Pass Code can be found on the left side of the Receipt beneath ‘2026 Weekend Pass’.

You can now use your Pass Code to book your sessions (hooray!).

BOOKING SESSIONS USING YOUR PASS CODE

Once the Weekend Pass Program becomes available (Early Birds will be notified one day before to enjoy priority booking), you will be able to log in and choose which sessions you would like to attend. Then, proceed to redeeming your Pass by selecting each session you want, via the process below:

If you are logged in to your account
1. You just need to select 1 ticket on your Pass Code and click Add to Cart.
2. A confirmation box appears showing you added to cart.
3. Click Close, and then choose your next session, clicking Add to Cart after each one.

Once you have chosen all your sessions you need to complete the check out process, at which point your purchase will be complete and your tickets will be reserved for you.

A confirmation email will be sent to you once this process is complete. Please check your spam folder if the email doesn’t appear within a hour of completing your purchase.

If you are NOT logged in to your account

You can enter the Pass Code in the box under the session you wish to attend, and then choose the ticket to add to cart (but it is easier just to log in to your account here: Account Login).

Move down the page and select your preferred session for each time slot. Always click Add to Cart for each session chosen.

Once you have chosen all your sessions you need to complete the check out process, at which point your purchase will be complete and your tickets will be reserved for you.

You will receive a confirmation email once this process is complete. Please check your spam folder if the email doesn’t appear within a hour of completing your purchase.

If you have a Weekend Pass, we recommend starting on the Saturday page and then hitting the button down the bottom of the page to select your Sunday sessions.

If you are receiving this pop-up window when trying to redeem, please ensure that you have selected the blue dot next to the date and time of the session you’d like to select as you may have inadvertently tried to select more than one session at a time.

RESTRICTIONS

You can’t choose sessions that are taking place at the same time. If you do, you’ll get an error saying you can’t have something because something else is in your cart. If you do, view your cart (there is a cart icon in the top right hand corner of the website) , and remove the item that needs to be removed.

COMPLETE CHECKOUT

Once you select all your sessions and you are sure you’re correct, complete the checkout process so you get a booking number or ‘Pass Code’. You do not need to pay anything unless you are adding more paid tickets to your cart.

DID YOU CHECKOUT WITH LESS THAN 4 OR 8 SESSIONS IN YOUR CART?

Have no fear! You can log into your account at any time, add more sessions, and even swap sessions if you have changed your mind.

WHAT IF I WANT TO CHANGE MY SESSION CHOICE AFTER CHECKOUT?

You can change your sessions any time before May 15, provided the session still has tickets available.  Please email us at marketing@wordsonthewaves.com.au with your full name, the session you want to cancel and the session you’d like to book and we’ll complete the exchange for you.

I HAVEN’T GOT A PASS YET. HOW DO I PURCHASE?

DID TICKETING CHANGE?

In 2024 we moved to trusted ticketing platform Ferve Tickets, so if you’ve bought with us previous to 2024, this ticketing process will look a little different. We hope that you will find it easy to use however, and a good option for all the other exciting ticketing offers we will have coming up!

REFUNDS

Please check your tickets carefully, as no refunds are able to be given, in keeping with community and event industry standards. Small not-for-profit arts organisations such as Words on the Waves typically operate with very limited cash reserves and volunteer-run administration, meaning ticket revenue is often immediately committed to artist fees and event costs, leaving little capacity to absorb or process refunds. How to book Highlight Events & Workshops

Are Highlight Events and Workshops included in the Day Pass or Weekend Pass?

No, each Highlight Event and Workshop will need to be purchased separately. Once the tickets have been released you can do so via each Event page or via the Buy Tickets page.
